Privacy statement
Kickbytes takes your privacy seriously. This page explains which data we process, why, for how long, and what your rights are. In short: we collect little, use it only to help you, and do not track you.

Which data and why
We only process what is needed for the purpose.
- Pricing assistant (chat): the messages you type, the chosen services and the offer. Purpose: calculating a price and discussing it. The conversation stays on our server for at most 24 hours, unless you leave your details (see below).
- Contact and offer form: name, e-mail address, phone number and company (optional), your message and, for an offer, the offer and the conversation. Purpose: answering your request and following up the offer. Basis: your consent and taking steps prior to entering into a contract.
- Abuse prevention: your IP address is only used as an unreadable hash in a temporary counter (at most 24 hours) to stop spam and overload.

Client portal
If you have an offer or project with us you can sign in to the client portal with a one-time link we send to your email address (no password). There you see your project status, updates, files and payment details, and can request changes. What you enter there is kept with your project while the service runs and afterwards as long as legally required (tax: 7 years). The sign-in cookie is functional and needed to keep you signed in; you can sign out at any time.

Cookies and trackers
We set no cookies for viewing the site; the language follows from the web address (Dutch on the main pages, English under /en/). Only if you sign in to the client portal do we set a functional cookie (kb_portal, 30 days) that keeps you signed in. A language notice you dismiss is remembered locally in your browser (not a cookie). We anonymously test which text or button works better: your browser remembers locally which variant you saw (not a cookie) and we only count totals, with no identification or link to you. Your browser also remembers locally (30 days, not a cookie) which link brought you to the site, such as a search engine or a recommendation with a referral code. We count that anonymously; only if you submit a request or offer yourself do we store that origin with your request, so we know which channel works. We use no analytics or marketing cookies, no trackers, no external fonts and no third-party scripts. That is why you see no cookie banner.

AI assistant and processors
The pricing assistant uses Claude, an AI model by Anthropic. What you type in the chat is sent to Anthropic to generate a reply; Anthropic may process data outside the EEA. We do not send your contact details from the form there. Please do not type sensitive data (such as passwords or special-category data) in the chat.
Free website scan: if you enter your website address, we send only that address to Google PageSpeed Insights, which tests the site and returns the scores. Google may process data outside the EEA. We keep the result (scores and a screenshot from Google) for at most 6 hours in a temporary cache, and the key figures belong to the chat conversation (at most 24 hours, or longer if you request an offer). Only enter addresses of your own websites or ones you have permission for.
Payments: when you pay for a project, you do so on Stripe's secure payment page (iDEAL, card or another method shown there). Stripe receives your name, email address, the amount and your payment details and is itself responsible for processing those; we never see your bank details or card number. Stripe may process data outside the EEA and creates the invoice and receipt. We keep invoices for seven years, as the tax retention obligation requires.
Our website runs on our own hosting infrastructure. Apart from Anthropic, Stripe (only when you pay) and, only if you use the scan, Google, we do not share data with third parties unless legally required.

How long we keep data
- Chat conversations without details left behind: at most 24 hours.
- Requests and offers with contact details: at most 24 months after the last contact, unless we start a client relationship. Then we keep data as long as needed for the service and the statutory retention period (tax: 7 years).

Your rights
You may access, correct or delete your data, restrict processing, object, and request your data in a usable format. If you gave consent you can withdraw it at any time. Send your request through the contact page; we respond within a month. If you disagree with how we handle your data you have the right to complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
